Why Green School?
The past year has seen the most turbulent economic events in a lifetime. The new administration in the White House is accepting climate change is a problem that has to be tackled now. The rainforests continue to be depleted and the world's consumption of fossil fuels accelerates as reserves dwindle. Meanwhile new technologies appear at an increasing pace and Google has changed the way we find information.
Our children will be entering a workplace vastly different from the one we entered, or even that of today. Former U.S. Secretary of Education Richard Riley predicts that the ten jobs in highest demand in 2010 did not exist in 2004. Using yesterdays education system to teach today's children for the job market of tomorrow may not give them the best chance of achieving their full potential.
Green School is about achieving that potential in its students. About creating the optimum environment for creative minds to think and develop. Its about getting the best teachers from around the world who come here because they have sought us out and choose to be here. Its about using a curriculum that is based around learning by doing and problem solving. It's about teaching kids what to do with knowledge rather than repeat it.
Green School welcomes all parents that want their child to be part of a generation of global citizens who are knowledgeable about and inspired to take responsibility for the sustainability of the world.
